Learning As I Go: Pregnancy Update 001

I finally have entered the second trimester. It is a big milestone marked with being able to share my pregnancy with the world and also to allow myself to obsessively buy onesies. So clearly the next step for me would be to document this crazy ass science experiment. The complaints, joys, musings ...everything.

So far here is what I have learned and experienced:

I will probably not be fully comfortable at anytime for the remainder of my baby growing state. I guess that goes hand in hand with having a human now residing where your organs were taking up space.

I never knew the true meaning of the word fatigue.

At some point in the day, hell maybe even all day, I will have gas. You have all been warned. I can't do anything about so we all just have to deal.

Peeing is now my new hobby. I am so into it that I even get up 4 to 5 times during the night just to have at it. Sometimes I surprise myself by participating in my new interest at unexpected times, like after a sneeze.

I will get up to complete a task then forget why I got up. This will happen daily. I will also have a conversation and insist parts of it did not occur because I don't remember saying any of what you recall.

During the week I will be angered by nothing and saddened by almost anything.

When your gay and pregnant you will have a lot of conversations about sperm and procedures. Just get used to it or figure out a clever way of changing the subject.

  1. I like that you are looking at this as a science experiment. It reads like a Captain's Log of being all spermmed up.

The thing about fatigue is scary. Like I am often so tired I feel like I got kissed by a dementor, what happens when a fetus gets up in there and demands even more tiredness should occur? I can't even imagine your level of tiredness.

    Godspeed, scientist.

  2. Get used to it - the peeing while sneezing never stops once you've squeezed out a small human. :(

  3. Oh, and just remember that if you have another kid after this one, you'll feel this tired and also be chasing a child around. I think this is why there are so many "only children" out there. LOL.

  4. Oh no... I had a feeling that the peeing wouldn't stop.
